white wednesday white rabbit white slip

Our gardening world has many gardeners. My newest painting of a little gardening bunny

who rises early to water her little paradise. It is also the little bird's home and paradise. We share our world. Little

bird sings to her eggs, to the seedlings and to miss bunny. We all respond to love; do we not?

I love how little bunny is in her white slip. I have never done this, but I know of one person who pulls weeds in pajamas! I made the colors dreamy because in the morning

there is so much hope and many dreams for the new day.

Florida Bungalow Front Porch

A very cute country porch in Florida. I like it because it reminds me of our yellow house at home, but I don't have anything red on the porch nor ceiling fans. At least not yet. When you see a white picket fence and some country charm you want to know who lives there. This place has character. It's someone I want to meet. There are large shade trees on this road so the dappled shade is a perfect retreat from the hot sunshine with sweetened ice tea.

Girls and Their Horses Painting

We girls have an ongoing love affair with horses. It starts when you are little and continues on from there. We also love cowgirl boots. Pink when we're little and then our choice of colors change. I will have to just be happy to paint them for now. In Florida (where this post comes from) they graze alongside the orange groves and are just as beautiful as the horses in Maryland. I've not seen them running and playing yet, but then when it's 97 everyday maybe that time is after dark when it cools down...just a little.

I get a pang when I see all of the tropicals plants so lush here. Why is it we want what we can't have? When we lived in Hawaii I wanted roses and peonies and tulips and daffodils.....even though the gardenias were storming my senses with perfume.

But horses are the same everywhere. They want to be taken care of and loved and they will love you in return.

This painting is for sale on ebay. It's titled, Horse Hugs. What do you think these girls named their horse? They call her "Hugs." Kids come up with some very nice names.

Cottage Garden

To go outside is a beautiful thing. All of the roses are waving their heavy perfume. We are drunken on it. Alas the combination of honeysuckle and roses makes one forget alot of things...

What exactly you went outside to get and also that you were to be taking pictures for show off your cottage monday post. Instead you (me really) wander about aimlessly with a camera and stagger about. Natural aroma therapy.

This soap here is so heavenly. It's apricot and freesia. Now that is a combination made in heaven.

The dusky pink rose of mine is a floribunda named Simply marvelous (an understatement) and the magenta garden phlox is Nicky. The variegated lavender is Silver Edged Lavender which is so airy in color and just as fragrant leaves and flowers as the gray leaved lavenders. It still has the lavender colored flowers. I white-washed the clay pot and it instantly had an aged look...like it's one of the old-timers in the garden.

Our sweet little gardener kitten had on strapless rose petal slippers. She had a great time jostling the petals around.

Alice in Wonderland Kids Mushroom Art

Little Alice has shrunk to the size of the little woodland folk. She's thrilled to meet these new
friends who know the forest so well. Real friends
are so much better than imaginery ones and these are real for sure.

I finally got to see the new Alice and Wonderland
movie. I was trying to notice the wristlettes, but with everything happening so fast you miss it. So maybe the second time I'll catch that. Or on a bigger screen where they are bigger than life.

As with all artists we illustrate our own version and turn of events. This is one of mine. Our siamese cat is in it as a siamese toadstool. Have you ever heard of one of those before? She looks right cute.

This is up on ebay now. Skip on over for a look see!

White Wednesday - My First

White flowers have a cooling effect on us in the hot weather. It's 90 out so I'm looking directly at these now. The white snapdragons will bloom all summer into the fall. Yay! I love beautiful, sturdy flowers that don't fail. Plus they are an upright torch-goblet shape which looks good with blouse-y flowers that flop all around it...or just place them next to a boxwood hedge...boxwood is such a classic!

Eating after dark by candlelight these will be like twinkling wands under the moonlight.

I don't know why they don't sell more white snapdragons at nurseries. They mostly sell the mixed-color market packs. Up close it has a hint of blush on it. It's own, not mine!

I picked a few greys from near the porch and they look luminous against my white linen. So dreamy and the lemon thyme makes me want ice tea. I love this grey-green and white combination of colors. Looks so clean, crisp and fresh.

Look how dainty these seed heads on the dandelion are up close. They are ready to take flight like a flock of migrating birds. Good thing the sheep eat them and think they are cotton candy!

I am linking to Faded Charm, who sponsors white wednesday, for my very first time. A fun group of folks who love sharing pictures of white colored treasures inside and outside their home. Join in the fun!

Frida Kahlo Portrait Painting Folk Art

Frida Kahlo might be the only person to bring flowers to the beach. She has found a beautiful red crab which reminds her of a heart. A heart with a pinch to it. (We must be careful with everyone's hearts.) Plus Frida has found a starfish which reminds her of the falling stars she makes wishes on. Kitty is hoping that crab doesn't go home with them!

The colors are the blues I see outside...no overcast, no smog, just brilliant blues and whites! I love this weather. Too bad the beach is a few hours away...
