Shabby Chic White Westie and Kids Art

The apples are getting large and some are falling now. The deer have apple crisp right on the tree. Crisp and tart the apples are. I see the deer standing on their hind feet to reach the taller ones. Our westie tries to keep them at bay.

With this painting I've used rather antique colors, nothing too bright, but rather soft and subdued. I added more brushstrokes (sky) for interest and texture. I want it to look good in a mostly white room.

A print is now available on etsy.

Frida Kahlo Art Labels Cards Notes

We are in love with small pieces of paper and sticky notes. I have a new love called labels and hang tags. You can use them as gift cards or just write "you are sweet" on it and give it away to your child's teacher. We could have a contest on all the uses for them.
I made these myself and am offering them in my etsy store now.

My Friend Hedgehog Who loves Heart Cookies

Are you ready for spring? Bring in Spring. Ring in Spring. Fling in Spring. After a week of being under the weather and snowed in I close my eyes and see all the little spring blossoms looking at their wristwatches wondering, "Is it time yet?"
My new little painting has only a pinch of white in it because everywhere we look it's white. (Come hot summer we use lots of white paint, can't paint cool enough colors.) Our little hedgehog friend's name is Ava. She is a cutie and a great pastry chef! When she takes a walk in the woods everyone comes out of hiding to get a taste of her baked confections.
I used browned colors to make this look a little vintage. The original painting is up for sale on ebay and you can find a print on etsy.

Frida Kahlo Parrots Cats Rabbits, Painting

Aren't baby animals ever so sweet and perfect? Frida loves, loves, loves animals and birds and they adore her back in this painting. One kitten is going to catch the ribbon on Frida's braid while the other is going to jump onto her lap on the next pass!
The title of this painting is "Spring Swing." The colors came from our maple trees that bloom little lime green and acid green flowers profusely in the spring. The orange is from the tulips that makes a wonderful marriage of colors. We can learn so much from nature! The outdoor kind not our own nature. : )
