Sailor Boy Contemporary Folk

Uphill Currents

I've married my oils with my folk characters with tonalist colors. A sailor is a sailor whether on land or sea. Myron is ahead of his boat pull toy going uphill but downhill the boat is always ahead. It is an 8 x 10 stretched canvas for sale now on etsy. I did a few snow scenes too in oil and will post them soon.

My sister sent some Chocolate Macadamia Shortbread Cookies from Sanoi Michaels of Hawaii and they are delicious. They just melt in your mouth and I couldn't find the calories anywhere as each are individually sealed. It's probably better that we don't know. The only time ignorance is bliss...for one day...then I'll need to be running uphill like Myron.

Bathing and Painting Westie Dogs

Lots of bathing going on with our westie boy. Living in the country has it's challenges with a bright white (after bathing) westie.

I did this oil painting of him from a photograph I took looking down at him after he was combed out. He tends to get tangles and little pieces of pine and fir trees in his hair. He has the look saying, "Are you finished with that dryer yet?"

He loves the brushing and combing, but gets a little annoyed at the dryer. It's always on the lowest setting, but the noise is unnerving after a few minutes. (They can make almost silent dishwashers when will the hairdryers be almost silent?) By the time I am finished he looks like a white fluffy summer cloud!

For sale on ebay.

Fall Days Westie

We're loving theses fall days where everything is still green and the weather is perfect during the day. Sweaters are necessary in the evenings unless you are a westie. I did an aceo size oil of a westie (our boy modeled) in the shade, but with the warm sunlight still reflecting on him. He looked lumunious like a lantern. An agile running lantern I might add!

Up for sale on ebay.

West Highland White Terrier Dog Westie Art Painting

"THE HAPPY ONE"

Westie Art comes from my westie and my heart combined. I try to get that westie personality which is the breed's top trait, I think. Every time I lean down towards puppy he meets me halfway with a kiss. So when I look down at him this is the look I always see. In this painting Westie has on a dandelion head lei-wreath. He doesn't have a problem with it because he's soooo happy to be with me.

The colors are light and the lighting was such that the light, shadows and reflections all collided and it made a beautiful sight to paint. The painting is a great collectible size 4 x 4-inches that can be displayed about anywhere to spread a little happiness.
