Candylei's Garden and Paintings

The lilac buds are swelling and it won't be long before they dance in the wind, fully dressed, and swinging their perfume. There is something old-fashioned and homey about lilacs. Right in there with lavender. It reminds you of fresh laundered clothes and sweet soaps, the bringing in of SPRING and the hope of even richer perfumes yet to come in summer.

Birds often make their nests in lilac bushes because they get quite dense with leaves. Which brings me to something I would like to have built for birds. A dovecote! Wouldn't that be just delightful near the garden.

Giselle in my painting is holding two cooing doves. She is listed now on ebay.
