Chemotherapy Treatments

I am learning about chemotherapy...
There are many different types
of chemotheraphy treatments.
A combination of medicines that
kill cancer cells. There are
chemotherapy creams, shots,
disks put in during surgery, pills
and infusions or iv's.
Treatments can be continuous or
you can be allowed to rest a few
weeks inbetween treatments.

Did you know that chemotheraphy
is also used to treat diseases other
than cancer like
rheumatoid arthritis and lupus?
I didn't, but today I found that out.
Rheumatoid arthritis affects over
2 million Americans the majority
being women.

The Mayo Clinic has 6,000 plus
articles on their website concerning
chemotherapy. Pretty amazing.

I've worked as a medical lab tech for almost 33 years and have seen so many changes and advances in chemotherapy during these years. I do know all about infusion therapy for rheumatiod arthritis because it has given my father a new lease on life. I hope your son tolerating his chemo and on the road to recovery. Take care.

Cousin Nellie from Mt here!! My daughter is just finishing up in Mayo for SPTCL-subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-Cell Lymphoma. It was the non-hodgkins type. Nasty!! She would have never made it in Montana. Mayo is so aggressive! Let me know if there is anything I can do!! But I will be praying for you and your family. Art would have email address if you would like it!

Thinking of you all and wondering how Basil is doing? Hope he is reacting well to the treatments. Sierra is doing well and it is planned for her to come home on Saturday. Hoping for the same for him.
