Collect White China with Roses

Sugar bowls are the most inexpensive items to collect. I'm going to share a secret.

First this little pink dianthus. I love how it looks like someone used pinking scissors on them, but that is how God made them. So perfect and a wonderful spicy clove fragrance to go with them.

I've also loved roses forever. A wonderful way to collect them is on castaway vintage sugar bowls and china plates at thrift stores. The best part is that I use them for small vases on the table pictured here outdoors. You could even put in a name card in each bouquet if you have one for each guest. The secret is they are beautiful and all very inexpensive vases, but all the things we ohhh and ahhhh over. The one above was 1.50

Another beautiful white china plate with rose wreaths on it. 1.50 The back of the plate is stamped FRANCE Depose.

I love these roses too. 1.50 This one is stamped WINSFORD, England, W.H.Grindley and Co. on the back. All ready to serve little tea sandwiches or tiny confections. They really set the country white mood with their blush of pink roses. Now for tea.

Hi Candylei,

I love all those delicate details, too and am a big fan of mixing and matching china. Hard to pass up something so pretty!

How charming your pieces are! It is just the best fun to search thrift stores and unearth these little treasures, isn't it? And I love your Westie paintings...

Well, I can not believe I never thought of this. I am always looking for cheap vases for my garden flowers. And I adore china. And especially sugar bowls. Thank you for putting me on a mission when I go antiquing with friends! Loves your pictures. Visited you through White Wednesday.

I love roses too. It is a good thing because I am a florist. My favorite flower is on your banner, the bleeding hearts. I have pink and white and the old fashion ones too. I sure wish they lasted longer. I just bought a service for 8 white dinner set with pink roses for $5.00. It is complete with teapot and all the serving pieces. It was so cheap because it came out of a shed at a yardsale and was very very dirty. I let it soaking outside for a week. Washed and rewashed, but it is by far the prettiest set I own. There are bargains out there, we just have to keep looking.

Nice collection. I love the idea of displaying cut flowers in the sugar bowls. These would be great for my hydrangeas with short stems.

Tks for stopping by!
